download "Yahoo! Widget Engine" most of it you won't need, but you do need it to use "SMS Widget addon"

This allows you to send SMS messages for free from your desktop

If you have trouble locating it, email me, and i'll see what I can do to help

:D

If you get the email address for the phone, you just send a plain text email. Make sure you keep it short. There is a character limit of about 120 characters after the Subject.

The address depends on the service provider. For example, I have Virgin Mobile. My email address is the full phone number of my phone followed by "@VMOBL.COM"
1234567890@vmobl.com

For some service providers, you can log onto the company web site and find a page which allows you to enter the phone number and message and then send it online.

you can use yahoo messenger for some services, or you can always go to the person's providers website and do it that way.
