I was fired from my last job because the employees that worked for me didn't like that I held them accountable for their work and the results or lack of results. They complained to HR and those complaints resulted in my termination.

You explain it exactly how it happened. But complaints don't get you terminated - some of them must have been substantiated. So you'll need to discuss how you have learned from the experience and how you will change your approach to build a team instead of dictate.

Good Luck

Any way that does not imply that you create drama, are lazy, antisocial, criminal, or incompetent. Just tell him the real reason because your reason is kind of good. Say that you were too competent or something lol but make sure he does not get the impression that you are a stickler, political, or an annoying person to have around. :D

politics. Tough situation. you never know when you are right when you are wrong, or when you can be wrong when you are right. Then you laugh.
Never going into details. peple do not have time to listen to you stories. Mostly boring and nagging, that take away you focus on leading them to concentrate on your talents rather than your past miseriable experience. make sure you appear your past do not bother you at all.

In most states your previous employer is not allowed to even tell a potential employer that you were fired. All they can legally tell them is that -yes you did work there & when. That is unless you put it on your resume.
