IF YOU MEAN

Multiply, 4xy^3*2x^(2y)*5xy^2?

How did I get this
Use the rules for Multiplying exponents or powers and break it down.

http://oakroadsystems.com/math/expolaws.htm#Multiply

4xy^3*2x^(2y)*5xy^2

4*2*5 = 40

xy^3 + xy^2 = xy^5

x^(2y)

Put it back together.

40xy^5x^(2y)

4xy^3 . 2x^(2y). 5xy^2 = 40xy^5x^(2y)

IF YOU MEAN

4xy^3 . 2x^2*y . 5xy^2

Break it down and Use the rules for Multiplying exponents.

4*2*5 = 40

xy^3 + xy^2 = xy^5

x^2*y

Put it back together

40xy^5x^2*y

4xy^3*2x^2*y*5xy^2 = 40xy^5x^2*y

Multiply coefficients first. Then multiply variables (add the exponents)
(4*2*5) (x^(1+2+1)) (y^(3+1+2)) = 40 x^4 y^6

There is only multiplication within a term.

Multiply the numbers 4*2*5 (40)
Multiply the x*x^2**x (x^4)
Multiply y^3*y*y2(y^6)

40x^4y^6

that's no longer clean that u have taken sq., cube or straightforward multiplication. So I even have given answer in 2 way. 4xy3 * 2x2y * 5xy2 =4xy^3 * 2x^2y * 5xy^2 or 12xy*4xy*10xy? =40x^4*y^6 or 480x^3*y^3 or 80x^3*y^6 whether that's 2x.2y(no sq.)

Just list out all the terms:

4.x.y.y.y.2.x.x.y.5.x.y.y

group them:
4.2.5.x.x.x.x.y.y.y.y.y.y

simplify:
40.x^4.y^6
