I knew i encounter this kind of question. I often make jokes on how coincidently that they both start out as FM.
They have nothing to do with each other. FMP is a comedy slash drama slash giant robot (mobile suit) anime http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=844. The names are just similar. The only thing I know they have in common are some of the voice actors. Ed and Kurz, Wrath and Chidori, and Greed and Sousuke, for example.
