Saw a segment with Ron Hazelton on a drainage system when you have water in your basment. Can not find it on his webb site. HELP

The typical drainage system for a leaky basement is to dig all around the foundation of the house to catch the water before it gets into the basement and pump it ot with a sump pump.

Work on the "gutter drains" first. Make sure those drain pipes coming from the roof are drained at least 20 feet or more from the house. Those nifty little vancy flex things they sell are worthless. So get a good drain pipe installed at the end of each and every gutter down pipe drop.

This will save you lots of dollars and get rid of your water problem in most cases.

That system of drilling holes thru the inside wall and piping them to the sump is plain ugly. When and if, you try to sell your home people will look at that and say. "Water Problem!!!!" You dont want that. Ron Hazelton was showing that kind of a thing I saw it too.

Ypur first step should be make sure that all water utside your home is draining away from the house, extend your downspouts, if you have a low area near the house biuild it up with topsoil, another fairly painless option is to install drainage tile along the house on the side where water is coming in
