On the origin of the Universe, Designer Tarcísio Brito says: Great Atom of name Universe, finite in its dimension and the infinite in its time (it answers in contrast for everything of the nothing).

Who knows...certainly modern science has only wild guesses (WAGs) as to what our universe really is. Let's look at some of the guesses:

1. It's just one of many universes existing side by side in higher dimensions. The known universe, which we can see, sprang from the big bang caused when two of the universes (ours and one other) collided. (String/M theory) [See "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene]

2. It's a gigantic black hole in another universe and the big bang is just the horizon seen from inside that black hole. Check this out:

"Amid these uncertainties and explorations, serious works modeling the universe as a black hole do exist, more than one.

Now, scientists are very much aware of the incompleteness of the available theories to provide with fully consistent models, so they themselves typically point out the flaws of their proposals needed of further research." [See source.]

3. Plasma cosmology, which states "... that because we see an evolving universe that is constantly changing, this universe has always existed and has always evolved, and will continue to exist and evolve for eternity." [See source.]

So there you have three WAGs on what the universe is. None of these, nor that of Brito, has ever been validated. But the one that has the most substantiating evidence is that of the big bang theory.

And, one of the major objections to the BBT, the existance of dark matter that no one could see, has disappeared last year (2006). A group at Stanford U. has actually observed dark matter as it was caused to glow under the collision of two galaxies. You can look this up on the web and see some pix of the collision and the glowing dark matter. So the evidence in favor of the BBT is growing. Understand, the BBT does not explain why or how the BB occured, it only models that it did occur and what followed after it.

Designer Tarcisio Brito seemed to live in his own little world and not pay attention to real science. The Universe is not a great atom.
