Arkansas CDL is like all other 50 states in general.
1. you take several tests.
a. General knowledge,
b. Passenger
c. School bus
d. Haz-Mat
e. Air brakes.
Depending on what certifications you need.
Then comes the driving part of which you can expect to be behind the wheel a minimum of 45 minutes.
This also includes the Pre trip inspection of the vehicle. Then you climb aboard the vehicle class you will drive....If you are going to drive a 70 passenger school bus don't show up in a 27 passenger shuttle.
The driven test includes all aspects of signaling, stopping ar RR crossing etc.
I passed on my first try for combination vehicles then I blew it two years later when I added the passenger endorsement. I had to retake that again, go to the AR. Transportation website and download the manual. Read it well as they will catch you...Don't freak out as it is really just common knowledge stuff for any commercial driver. Good Luck

To the other poster - cdl licenses are for any kind of large commercial vehicle - usually larger than 3/4 ton.

Though they are correct in saying it can't be too hard. I got mine in TN, and all I remember them doing was testing my piss.
