there are all different types of doctors. i have no time naming them but obviously you know that because the question that you asked says so. every doctor has a different job. the surgeon is to do surgery on our body's. the dentist is to deal with our teeth's. they are here because they all have one job, in different areas of the body. they all studied something else. so if you need a foot Doctor sure you won't go to a dentist. that because the dentist didn't study the foot. he or she studied the teeth. hope you understand.

Despite the answers from the 'Medical Professional' (Note that that could mean that this person is an LVN or Orderly), the body is too complicated to be fully understood by one person at one time. You need to have specialists in order to do the best possible job.

Money issues aside, if I have a problem with my heart, I want a Cardiologist, and I want Telemetry RNs, I don't want someone who has spent his time learning bits and pieces of everything and hasn't had the time to keep up with the latest research in this field. There is a reason you don't go to a GP when you have a specific medical problem.

It is hard for a person who has never started any education in healthcare to understand how comlicated the human body is. It is extremely complicated and there are things not even top specialists will ever understand. It is way to much for one person to understand all at once. Doctors are human just like everyone else.

Only "House" has complete knowledge of the human body. For most doctors it is too much and they specialize on certain systems.

It is because western science has always divided the whole. It is only complicated to the few who dominate the field. In other parts of the world, they deal with the whole body, not bits in pieces. Also, and most importantly, money is the motivating factor. The Cardiologist has to give his brother, the Immunologist his share of the cash. I am a healthcare professional.

Mirroring much of what others have said, if medical students were required to learn absolutely every single thing about the human body, they would never graduate from medical school and die of old age there!

It's best to divide labor when it comes to something so complex as the human body.
You wouldn't have outstanding opthalmologists, or outstanding ENTs, etc. if ALL dioctors had to work on EVERY organ.
