Depending on the reason you are wanting to talk to your boss, is how I would approach him/her. For instance you could say you have a concern you would like to discuss about your job. If it is a private matter tell him or her you are having some difficulty right now on a private matter and would like to discuss it with them. If you have a human resource department, try talking to them first. Hope this helped. Good luck

Pass your boss a note saying that you wish to talk to him/her about (make certain you state what) privately.

As a boss, this allows me time to organize my day to talk and still get the work done that we are in business for.
