You can use good old Yahoo Geocities!

To create web pages you can use Microsoft Word itself. It has an option in the File Menu to save documents in HTML format(web pages are all html language) .

I've tried Yahoo! Geocities and it's great. I advise you to try it beause it is really easy to use and hsa tens of great features. They may not offer you plenty of webspace but it's awesome. Try it, http://geocities.yahoo.com/

Freewebs i think will show up, homestead *im not sure if homestead is free, however, my friend used it for her site
