And for that matter, why not have a 360?
Just curious. I figure if someone sends me rude email, I can always delete it. I only give my IM out to some people, too...after I'm sure they're not loony or just loony enough.
What are your reasons for disallowing contact, or allowing it for that matter?

Hey Girl...I dont allow IM cuz I see no reason for every nutjob in Y/A Land to know my Yahoo name. I only give that to people as wacky as you!! haha.. I dont care about "via hidden email"..cuz yeah, just delete it.. I was having some asshole harass me on my 360 but I put him on ignore this morning..

I get rude messages too but I just delete them. But you never know, not all people are only up to no good. There are actually some interesting people out there that I meet in 360.

I must say i find it odd when some people ask the question 'How can I get to know people on this site?' that they don't allow email and what is more don't say anything about themselves on in their profile.
360 is different. .. it is a bit more 'exposing' and not everyone wants that.
I don't mind being contacted and like you I weed out the weirdos.I have made some good 'email pals'

I do. Why no longer? I enable IM and e mail only so people can respond to me on particular issues I say, in the different case in the experience that they have got a tendency to harass me for no reason, they're reported: junk mail. XD?

Only recently allowed e-mail as I never previously saw the need to have it or otherwise.
I think we're all slightly looney so that shouldn't be an excuse either way and you're right, you can always delete it.

I don't care if people email me, so i allow emails, but i don't allow IM because I only let my friends chat to me, I don't want my conversation's being interupted by some muppet with a bee in his bonnet because he didn't like something i said... and i do have 360, i just don't use it... i use myspace instead...

i allow email cause as u said u can always delete and report it if its rude. but i don't allow IM becos there are alot of freaks out there and i wudn't like them to be msgin me plus once they have ur id they can keep tryin to add u with many different ids so its more risky or annoyin whatever u call it

I allow email, but not IM. I used to and I would end up with lots of guys wanting to chat while I am at work. Not good...

I dont allow either,mainly because though im quite nice,I cant help being sarky to some people who are rude or nasty,and I dont want them on my back,lol.
Bit of a coward really I suppose.
