My W-2 is off by over $5000. Please help!

Call your payroll department and ask them to correct it. If there is no payroll department, or they refuse, take it up with your supervisor or boss. There are penalties for not doing it right, so they should take care of the problem.

Send it back with a copy of your last paystub for 2006 with a request for a correction. If they say no, find out why and ask for documentation to support the W2.

Document your salary via last paystub and send a copy with letter informing them of there mistake and request a revised w-2

well first did you get any "bonuses" during the year... this will up your income. If you didn't I would tell your accounting department by showing them your paycheck stub for the last day for the pay period in 2006... If they don't help go to an accounting professional and show them...
