For instance, I'm an editor, and I've been asked to create labels for the cabinets in our break room. I feel so incredibly insulted having been asked to do this! Do any of you get asked to do these "administrative" types of things when you're clearly at a much higher level?

Yes. It happens to all of us.

Ask yourself whether you are as likely a candidate for these tasks as anyone else. For example, if there is a college intern, then that person should do it. If it is either you or your boss, then you should do it.

I am a senior vice president, and I still do some low level stuff, but sometimes I am the most likely candidate to do them.

Yes. I water and spruce up all the office plants before I go home every friday evening. It's my contribution to making the office environment more pleasant for everyone here.

Well no but I had something happen to me at an older job that I realised was not very good. i worked at a shoe store. The only male there was the manager. He hit on me and a few of the other girls. Come to find out that he hired all the girls to work because he knew guys would buy shoes from pretty girls.

A lot of it depends on the size of the organization you work in. In a small place, sometimes everybody has to pitch in and help.
