Does his track record help? Pardoning his business partners who were convicted of illegal real estate deals, so they couldn't testify against him? Pardoning drug smugglers after donations made from their families?

Keep it straight now, he lied under oath in a deposition in a lawyers office in a case that never made it to trial. He was investigated for more things than a Mafia don, and with no other result. After millions of dollars and manhours of work that was it, all they could find.
Think of all the people who lie about their divorces, or their work experience, or their love lives, or if their wife looks fat in those jeans and you can understand why the majority of Americans thought they went a lot overboard.
In my day, a man never blabbed about his sex life, and Clinton kept to that code and got 'outed' on the web, which made me disgusted with the Republicans, not with Clinton. Even the ones who rode him the worst, had to leave due to their own dalliances with women not their wives afterward. Hypocrisy is a tough sell on either side.

in case you experience that Clinton is now no longer proper, then why even convey him up in this question? i become truly disillusioned that he wasn't removed from workplace. When was Bush and Cheney last in court and under oath? BTW. Why is it that Bush has only given two press conferences where he answers questions by reporters? Cheney did not seem to like the question about his lesbian Daughter having a baby much did he?

To paraphrase what US Armor mentioned, Clinton did signficantly worse things than perjure himself before COngress. There are credible claims that he raped one woman, he hesistated and failed us in regard to terrorism, even after the '93 WTC bombings, the embassy bombings, etc.

I don't suggest that Clinton was completely a bad President, which would be reckless, but that his decisions still impact us now in negative ways.

And to those who believe the Clinton investigation was merely about sex are woefully uninformed. The situation was MUCH more complex.
