why is it in the tv programme sharp sean bean and about ten others wear either a green or black uniform but everybody else in the same regiment wear red even hie commanding officers

I think you will find he is either a Skirmisher, a Scout or some other role in the Regiment where the members wore an early form of Disruptive Pattern Material.

bercause they are in a light rifle regiment attached to a line rifle regiment,the light rifle regiments were used as skirmishewrs out in front of the main lines

sharp and his men are riflemen or sharpshooters thus green allows them to remain hidden the reds are regular army .

because they are a separate rifle company you will notice that in some episodes they sometimes fight alone
