My boyfriend has been fighting for custody of his children for almost a year now..he had an evaluation done which shown that the children would be better off with their mother because he had been deployed to Iraq for 2 years and the fact that we were moving to a different state..the mother has had the children taken away 2 times already for having her home in unsanitary conditions and is currently being investigated for medical neglect..it seems like no matter what he does the mother (as neglectful as she is) is never wrong..his children are 9, 3 and 7 years old so they cannot choose where they want to live..any guys out there with children..what would you do? Would you let it go and agree with the evaluation or would you continue to fight?

If that man truely loves his kids, then he better never let it go. It takes sacrifice to raise children as well as getting custody. I understand that the judge frowned upon giving him custody because of his tour in Iraq, but there has to be more to it than that. If the ex-wife is truely unsanitary and the childrens' health is in jeapordy, then something needs to be done. Never give up. Those children need to know that someone out there is fighting for them. Tell your husband to go to court every month if that's what it takes, but don't ever give up or allow that woman to ruin those children's lives. Thank you and GOD bless.

Continue to fight.
If nothing else...the kids will know that Daddy did everything in his power to try and protect them. They will be able to choose by 12 (in most states).
A friend of ours fought for 5 years to get custody of his daughter. The mother was a drug addict, been arrested, in and out of rehab and jail....and it still took 5 years. He has her now, a new wife who is the best mommy to her, and they have a child together.
Keep up the good work.

well to be completly honest I would look at what is best for my children, not just for what i want. i know that it would kill me to give up my kids but if i felt that they would be better off with the father then i would go for it. but if the mother could get her act together for the better benefit of the children then she should hold on to them and never let go.

Get married, then you can get the kids. They wont let them go with him because he can be deployed at any time, but as long as you are there taking care of them, there should be no problem.

I'd never stop fighting for my kids. They would always come first.

fight, don't give up. It sounds like you might need a better lawyer, if she is unfit, then i don't know why they are still with her. Hang in there, and don't give up!
