General(ly) most of them Major in the art of war (as the previous answer said), but in their infancy (or is it infantry?) they occasionally indulge in poetry. I hope I have got to the kernel (colonel!) of your question.

martial arts? actually, in the orient, the best warriors were also well grounded in meditation, poetry, calligraphy/painting, and certain "magickal" pursuits such as feng shui, invocation of appropriate beings for protection and success (in battle), etc. among other not directly killing practices, but, which, nevertheless, aided them to be very competent warriors. ;-)
