It's because when you're pregnant, the hcg hormone is rising in your body for a while, causing you to feel sick. It doesnt have to stop in the morning. Trust me, it can last all day. I am almost 20 weeks and I still have it. It is very frustrating, but however if you feel that it wont go away or it is interfereing with your daily life, ask your doc about meds. They help a lot, I swear by them
Good luck!

It is normal...even though it's not pleasant. I am going through the same thing. I am 8 weeks and I find that it is worse when I am hungry, or when I haven't gone to the washroom when I need to. This is a dilemna because you feel sick, and don't feel like eating, but if you do, it should make things a little better. I also wanted to have the healthiest diet ever...but I have found that fattier foods like potato chips and fried rice have settled me more than soda crackers or other bland foods. I don't know how much that helps, I hope it does some. There are meds that you can take for the sickness, but I would ask your doctor about them and their effect on the baby. I have also been told that munching a slice of fresh ginger and snacking on almonds can help in relieving the sickness. Best wishes to you and happy experimenting.

i know exactly how you feel, going through the same thing too. all i can say is with my first i sailed through with no nausea or vomiting, no 2 was different all together i was sick morning noon and night from week 5 to week 22 nothing stopped it so all i can say is it is normal in some pregnancies and simply due to the hcg hormone, it is actually said to be a good sigh as the higher the hormone level the more sick it makes you feel? dont know if this is true, all i can say is although i am feeling sick all the time right now and it doesnt seem worth eating most of the time as i just see it again, sorry for been discusting, but am sure you know what i mean??! i eat really small snacks regularly, almost hourly, stick to blander food and stay clear of acidic drinks like oj and also caffeine tea, coffee, coke etc i found i can manage cream crackers with dairylea and chocolate pop tarts!!

Oh how i know where you're coming from! This was exactly what i went through starting at my 2nd month. Luckily, the all day nausea and strong smell heaving disappeared almost overnight when i hit the end of my first trimester (3rd month) i am now 5 months and feel great! So hang in there- it does get better! You'll find that saltines or sipping on a coke will help. Don't worry if you don't have much of an appetite - eat what you can and continue to take your pre-natals and you'll be fine. Good luck and congrats!

It's perfectly normal, though not all that common, to feel violently sick all day and not be able to keep anything down in the first few months. How pregnant are you? It's more unusual for severe symptoms to carry on into later pregnancy - though still not likely to be any cause for concern provided you stay hydrated..
And it's supposed to be a GOOD thing in terms of healthy pregnancy and happy baby - it means that your hormone levels are all high and there have been studies which have shown that women who report higher levels of morning sickness tend to have better outcomes of pregnancy than those who report none. So that's reassuring!
It's utterly miserable though, and I spent my first 3 months throwing up constantly and leaping off buses and tube trains while commuting to work, trying not to be sick on other passengers. Really GRIM!!
The best things I found to help were:
1. Always try to have breakfast, preferably starting with a small dry cracker or two before you even get out of bed.
2. Keep you blood sugar constant - try to eat little and often, snacks like bananas are good if you can (though the smell can be too nauseating for some!) or wholemeal toast, or almonds and raisins.
3. Ginger is good. Ginger tea is excellent, and well known for settling the stomach.
4. Drink plenty of water - dehydration always made me worse and I have several friends who report the same. Adding a slice of lemon can help if you're even having trouble with water...or try filtering it....one friend said her tap water smelled of 'filthy swimming pools' and couldn't bear to touch it becuase she got so sensitive to chlorine.
5. Cold foods give off less odours than hot ones - so try avoiding hot meals and going for a salad if you are feeling sensitive.
6. For the same reason try getting someone else to do the cooking so you don't have to cope with cooking smells which might put your off eating.
7. Being anxious tends to make nausea worse, so try running though some relaxation techniques or deep breathing - it's really good practice for labor too!
That's about it from me I think. Good luck with everything and I really hope you start to feel better soon.

sadly yes it is normal. I would suggest ginger ail, ginger candy, eating only what doesn't overt you from wanting, sea band wrist bracelets sold at the pharmacy, during the 2nd trimester benedrly works wonders, small meals, and avoid citrus and acidic foods and spices.. If you want milk and peaches all day then eat what you can. It will start to subside around week 12. I can't wear tigh shirts either and on some days can't wear necklaces or bras either. Too much pressure on my esopogus and stomache. Good luck what you are experiencing is perfectly normal but you might want to tell you OB b/c she may be able to prescribe some pills that would help. Good luck and congrtas on your pregnancy.

I felt like that everyday for the first 4 months. I couldn't go out as I was scared I would be sick in public. Certain things can help stop you heaving, with me it was sucking lemon sherberts and drinking sweet tea. It does eventually wear off. I also got sick if I was tired. Good luck

yep it's completely normal for some women to feel like that. Unfortunately theres not a lot you can do about it but it will hopefully only last a couple of months. You could try eating ginger biscuits, that helps relieve the nausea for some people.
morning sickness should be renamed 24/7 sickness!

This is normal. I felt the same way when I was pregnant. Then I found out about vitamin B-6. I took it at night with my prenatal vitamins and a little snack. Within a few days my morning sickness was gone!

Congrats first of all!You are going to have a baby!!I just got out of that same roller coaster! I am 4 and 1/2 month along and it was very difficult to believe I was ever going to be done with the vomiting!I heard many different tricks...but I discovered on my own that drinking cold Gatorade and chowing gum...helped me A LOT!.You have to find on your own which flavor you tolerate better. And what can you stand...I hate gum myself, but it was like instant relieve from vomiting! You can make little ice cubes from the Gatorade and suck them if you can't stand drinking it.
It will go away girl...I promise!
