no it means that the votes were rigged by Channel 4 to bring her out of the winner and redeem themselves and the programme. It's the classic case of the underdog winning in the end and all that. Can you imagine if she hadn't won? So I am not convinced that she won on votes alone ... I think that after the hullaballoo in the house it was decided, high up, that she should win.
What happened, by the way, to teh people who booed Shilpa on Friday night? Every time her name was mentioned there were boos and cries of "Get Shilpa Out" but, when she emerged, strangely they were not there or had been removed.

She acted like a winner from the time she entered the House. In an ideal world without human beings analysing everything she is the Winner.

A bit of both. It became a referendum on the bullying form of racism some days ago...I really can't understand why people are surprised by that!
It does seem to inflame a lot of people on here that she won...which I am sorry to say just makes me further ashamed to be English. We should be glad to have this opportunity to become better people in a better country...but no. There are far more Jade Goody's around than there are Shilpa's...that's for sure!!!

you dont really think there was ever going to be any other outcome do you? all the people who phoned once the race issue started wasted there time and money, as c4 was never going to let any one except Shilpa win

I think all the controversy brought her a lot of attention, which only highlighted the fact that she's a sweet and intelligent woman who I think deserved to win because of that and nothing else.

I didn't watch any of cbb, I only gathered the info from here and there, but I would imagine she won as a sympathy vote for the appalling treatment she received.

It wasn't a victory for Shilpa, it was a victory for Political Correctness. It doesn't prove the British are not racist, it proves that you are overly sensitive to what other people think about you.

She won because people liked how she conducted her self in the house, against the bullying and hate. Jermaine unfortunately still has the MJ scandal attached to him. He was MJ's spokeman and supported him, alot of people still believe MJ is quilty and see Jermaine too close to him.

i think she is a beautiful person both inside and out and deserved to win, but i cant quite help but feel a little cheated by the result.
i wanted her to win because the nation liked her and not because they felt sorry for her or ashamed by the actions of one of our fellow britons?!
