I've played 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, and just began playing 12.

I have to say that I loved all of these games because each had its own little vibe.
7 was the beginning of a beautiful relationship between me and Final Fantasy XD. It's story line, materia, and playability all made it a must have game in my opinion.
I loved 8 because of its seriousness and the story line that had me crying... the magic system was the most unique they've had so far (I liked junctioning).
9 was fun, humorous, and enthrawling, but the battle system seemed to be getting stale... though I have to say the side quests were quite fun...

The part that began upsetting me after this was the final bosses... they're becoming way too easy and it's actually more fullfilling now to just keep playing and never beat the boss because... you can find harder battles... Like Ozma (sp?) in 9.

10 was fun, but the final weapons were not worth the stuggle to get them. Story was good, very involved and had plenty of twists to through me off at least once - and that's hard to do.
10-2 had a better battle system, in my opinion, but I didn't like the lack of weapons... I like that ability to choose...
Which is why I'm so in love with FF12 right now. The battle system is a blast - no more jumping at the 'glass crashing' sound that symbolizes a battle. You can make anyone use any weapon so long as you've got enough points to earn a 'lisence' (lp in this game). I love that there are no more stale backgrounds and that you have control of the camera! The hunts are fun and I've yet to find anything I do not like.... This game is actually kinda challenging so long as you don't use cheats... and I was tired of how easy the FF games were getting.

Anyway, out of the games you asked about, I'd have to say my favority was 7 because of the story line, side quests, and materia system.

.... But it's a close call to me.

I've played nearly all of them and the only one I didn't really like because it was way to easy and the story was like was the very first one for SNES, but it's hard to pick a favorite, 7 my all time favorite because the story line is great and sephiroth is a probably the best final boss out of all FF, but a close second is FF 12 because of the new fighting system which at first being a fan of the old games I thought would never work, but after beating the game I realize that it is much better in my opinion, and FF 9 is also high on the list because of the unforgettable characters like Amarant and Vivi, two of my favorite FF characters of all time and the story is pretty good too.

I really liked 7 a lot.. the story was great, the materia a neat way to really customize your characters, and the epic weapons were not annoyingly frustrating like they were in 10 and 12.. I absolutely hated all the epic weapon side quests in 10.. I mean who has fun dodging 200 consecutive lightning bolts? that's just stupid! and the treasure system in 12 is completely retarded.. you fight your way through a dungeon only to find the treasure room is empty.. that was so annoying! I always like getting every weapon in a game, but with 12 I didn't even bother.. I just beat the game and put it on a shelf and breathed a sigh of relief because that source of frustration was finally out of my life.. 8 was okay, but 7 is definitely my favorite.. FF Tactics is fun too.. I also have 6 which I hear is pretty good, but I haven't played it yet..

Favourite Final Fantasy

What classic games!

its got to be 7 as that was the first one i played and enjoyed every bit of it and was gutted when i had completed as i didn't know what to do after it. Cloud, Barret, Sethiroph that materia thing loved all of it.

I liked 8 but if wasn't the same Squall and such weren't as likeable.

I loved 9 and seemed to think that it was alot more cartoony like 7, preferred charcters on 9 than 8 vivi, steiner etc.

Only played 10 twice dont have PS2 opted for xbox seemed good never played it enough to know what it was all about.

I thought Final Fantasy 8 was absolutely amazing! A lot of my friends didn't like it because of the battle system, but before that I had only played older verions, and I absolutely loved the video clips. They were just beautiful.

And the story, it was like Lunar. Not to say it was the same, but it affected me in the same way. And Lunar is my all time favorite game so that's saying a lot!

I'd have to say that my favourite is 9. The main reason is that you have to learn to use the characters properly, because each character is unique and only gets certain skills... if you need a mage you have to take Vivi, need a summoner you have to take Dagger or Eiko.

The chocobo minigame adds a lot too, searching the world for various Chocographs to earn items and upgrades and the ultimate White chocobo that can go almost anywhere in the world.

FF Tactics is my favorite FF. Yes, I know, it's strategy RPG, not good ol' wander around and kill things pointlessly RPG, but it was very easy to pour 150+ hours into training your characters for those last battles. Very good side quests, very good characters, very difficult game (damn near impossible if you don't save AFTER EVERY BATTLE.)

Besides, it's in an alternate universe. How cool is that?

I have played and beaten 1 through 9 (including Mystic Quest, Tactics, and the Adventures,) then life happened. C'est la vie!

Hi,

I've played 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10,10-2 and I've finnished 7,9,10 and 10-2.

Actually, and probably a little controversaly, I really, really enjoyed 10-2, because the battle system was quick and fluid and the game was so open ended with so many secrets to find.

I also enjoyed 9, but that was the first one I played.
