Dark energy or matter was invented to explain certain behaviors of some celestial bodies.
It may or may not exist it is strictly a theoretical entity.
It has never been detected.
It would have to have the property of not radiating,absorbing or blocking electo-magnetic radiation. A tough call in any case.
