Anglos getting tans has nothing to do with imitating people with naturally dark complexions!

Years ago tan skin for Anglos meant you worked outside as a laborer, meant you were of the lower socio economic classes.

It was considered a sign of upper socio economic classes to have pale comeplexions.

Now days "tan" means you have lots of time for leisure - a sign of wealth.

Today a pale complexion means you are chained to a computer all day and never see the sun!

So, your little question was a waste of bandwidth. A rather trollish question!

Not really! I personally feel that white people can do what they want as far as their skin tone. It's not my place or business to pre-judge or comment about what whites do. As long as people are healthy I think that's what's important. Also I'm just personally flattered by my own blackness because I love me.

Probably not. I don't know of any black person from my grandmother's and mother's generations that wouldn't trade segregation with the need to tan. I can't see how that's flattering.

What's does this have to do with Black Folks? a tan for most White Folks if you can call it that will age them unlike any other Race and may give them skin cancer. paying for possible skin cancer is a dumb thing.

I've asked black people the same question and their answer is almost always no. They said white people could adopt physical/cultural features of other races without really having true respect or consideration for the same. For example, liking Asian foods and Asian martial arts without liking or respecting Asians. Liking Mexican food and mariachi music without caring much for Mexicans. Loving black music and dark complexions (by tanning) without having affinities for black people or any people with darker skin colors.

Not so much....I think it's kinda strange that anyone would want to do somethig like that.
I am actually highly offended when a white person returns from vacation or the tanning bed and shoves his/her arm next to mine and says, "Look, I'm almost as dark as you." And they just laugh and smile and wait for me to join them. .............well, they're still waiting.....

I seriously doubt it. I would guess they think we're stupid to risk skin cancer. I have several friends of color, and, quite honestly, the topic has never come up. I don't imagine they think much about it at all, really.
