It is really cold here, last night it was -22 F and because it is so cold the house makes really loud bangs. This scares the bejesus out of me...i always listen really closely to see if it is someone breaking in or just the house settling. I'm such a scaredy cat!!!

The thing is, at night you know to be fearful of the outside world for it holds the reasons for fear, it is in the broad daylight that you have no idea who are the bad guys.
Get an outside light that illuminates the entire area.

I have always been concerned at night with intruders, but it gets even worse when I am watching a horror movie. I have, in the past, been known to get my gun and keep it beside me while watching certain horror movies.
