I've seen Happy Feet, Babel, The Pursuit of Happyness and The Last King of Scotland over the past few weeks. Going to be seeing Blood Diamond this Wednesday.

The Last King of Scotland was amazing. I gave it a perfect 10 on IMDB.

I saw The Pursuit of Happyness last night, thought it was fantastic, I'd recommend it if you like films that make you think and happy endings! I want to see The Last King of Scotland too though, think it'll be what I see next.

I saw this the other night. This was what I said on my friend's forum:

Had my reservations about going to see this... it seems popular at the moment to focus films of African countries, and of the ones I've seen, whilst they doubtless had a good message, were somewhat dull in terms of entertainment value.

I'm also not a huge fan of the previous performances of Forest Whitaker.

However, I have to say that he is well worth his Oscar nomination based on this film. His performance is thoroughly convincing, both as a fun-loving and charismatic leader basking in adoration, and as a ruthless and paranoid dictator as the story progresses.

Based on my own personal viewing habits, this is perhaps one of the most well rounded films of recent times, and gives good good value for money in action, suspense, forbidden love, and the ever developing psycho-analysis of the former Ugandan leader.

It certainly helps that the film is based on fact, as it makes the story all the more compelling and shocking, and in turn makes the viewer think more about what they are watching.

Definitely worth going to see, and something I would watch again.

Not sure if it's showing yet in the UK but avoid "The Good Shepherd"

It's dire.

Despite having a wealth of great actors in the cast the movie jumps around different dates and takes ages to deliver the simplest of story line.
