There's a line in one of Shakespeare's plays in which the character says, "Methinks me lady protests too much," meaning, if you're innocent, you shouldn't have to tell people. If your husband offered that information out of the blue, without you asking him first, I'd have to wonder. My experience has been that when someone has to tell me, "I'm a Christian" or "I wouldn't lie", I know that the exact opposite is true. So, if you asked him if he's faithful, you must have doubts. In that case, give him the benefit of the doubt for now, while you listen to your instincts and pay close attention to possible evidence of cheating. If you didn't ask and he just came up with the statement that he's faithful, I'd start paying close attention. It could be his guilty conscience talking.

I would believe him as long as there was no suspicious behaviors. I think my husband is an honest man and he has never given me a reason to believe otherwise. If you suspect something isn't exactly right, talk to him. Make sure you are not asking out of your own insecurities, but because of his change in behavior.

I would believe him. Now if there was a reason, or a nagging feeling, I may just want to check it out. But normally why would i have the need to even ask?

I believed it for almost 20 years until I caught him cheating with his ex-highschool girlfriend who was also married.

People change, and they forget the vows they made many years ago.

They forget that things are NOT greener on the other side.

Depends on how he says it. But I would have to say yes unless there is proof that he is cheating.

Yes, I would. But if he gave me any reason to doubt his word AND his vows there would be hell to pay!
