I completely agree.
I'm not willing to pay an arm and a leg for the 3 new systems (yet!) Which turns into a big bummer, since everyone's concetrating on making all the good games for those. Did you hear they're not going to make xbox games anymore?! That sux too, since that was actually the last system we had gotten, and haven't built up our library yet. The used games should go down in price though, which will be a plus...
I love finding new (or even used) games on sale. It's almost like I've struck gold with some games! lol
I think the gaming industry needs to come down in prices. $50 for a new game is just outrageous! But, when you find a game that was new last year, down to $20 or less, then you know it wasn't much of a hit, even if you reeeeeally wanted it when it came out. It seems price reflects it's worth, most times. Did you ever see that Fantavision for the ps2? It came out about the same time the ps2 did. We got it (since it looked easy and was less than $10) and omg, it was not even worth that much! You shoot make firework displays that didn't even make sense! Then you have games like Twilight Princess (GC), that will probably be at $50 for another 5 years, for a new copy, just because everyone wants to have it, and it's, well, another Zelda. Look at the prices for the old NES or SNES games that they're bringing back for the GBA! Those games were awsome then, but now, to sit down and play them again, it's really not worth the $30!!! Those are only brought back for the nostalga of it. For us parents who want to share our first games with our children. I highly doubt any child (say, maybe 10) would actually enjoy sitting down and trying to beat the first Final fantasy or Bomberman. Why would they bother, when they have better games with better graphics, better music and sound effects?
I don't think today's kids will ever really know the glory of trying to get that stupid frog across the road and over the croc's and logs. They will never know how cool it was to say "I beat Mario and saved the princess!" Or, "Did you know Samus was a chick?!" They just want the bigger and better systems, with better graphics, with the HD tv's, and surround systems. I had my atari and NES hooked up on a 10" color tv. It was crude, but it was perfect for me. Now we have a total of 11 different systems in our home. My hubby, my kids, and I are all big gamers.
Ok, now that I'm done rambling on about everything video games, what was the question? lmao!
;o)

The prices are going up and the money is going down in the bank. What to do? I have always been a fan of the new consoles, but it's really hard to have enough money for all the daily needs and video games/consoles. The better a console gets the higher the prices :(

Pretty much at this point I am and I do not have the Wii yet. I am limiting what I buy now so it is not too bad. I know what you mean, sometimes a new game is all I have to look forward to. That is pretty sad for me, or so I am told.
