If federal spending were limited to areas authorized by the constitution. (like protecting our borders) then federal taxation could also be limited to constitutional means, tariffs, and fees. Needless to say it won't happen. Power corrupts (and that is especially true in Wash d.c.)

Eliminate handouts to the lazy....
Eliminate federal funding for things such as artists, etc...
Look at the consitiution for what the government SHOULD be spending money on, and what it should not
Stop contract payments to companies that do not fulfil contracts
stop handing money to countries such as Lebanon, etc....
