Just a quick little question I would like answered. I was curious as to why it is okay to bash the conservatives, christians, and anyone else with traditional values, with name calling or labels. Yet when the right does the same (not right either) they are labeled hate mongers and not PC. Is it okay for you to not be PC but the right must be PC. Do I have this right or wrong? If so, what makes you any better?

because liberals don't feel that the rules apply to them.

Bashing comes equally from both sides and no, it isn't OK. I try not to bash anyone personally. I will, however, dispute points.

As for "being PC", both the left and the right have a very narrow world view. As long as you follow blindly, you are OK. Once you disagree with ANY of their talking points, you are a warmonger, unAmerican, a baby killer, a socialist, a fascist, racist, a libtard, a conservatard, or any of a large number of names I have seen people called on here. It is the "us vs. them" mentality that our leadership has forced upon us (Democrats do it, too).

The vast majority of Americans fall into the "moderate" category, with left or right leanings. The far left and far right spend too much time battling with each other and far too little time working together to find solutions.

Don't label people. Labels make me itch.

You have it wrong. It is not right when either side does it and both sides are equally guilty of it.

If you are going to claim that the right is unfairly labeled un PC and hate mongers, you should also acknowledge that the right unfairly labels the left pro terrorist and anti American for having opinions that differ from theirs.

The only way to stop the namecalling is to stop participating in it.

When you see it, if you don't like it, you have 3 positive choices:

1 - Ignore it.

2 - Give the poster the thumbs down.

3 - Complain to the YA Politeness Police. I've been smacked down a few times by them, so in return, I've started reporting people to them myself.

But to do namecalling in return (in any form - like asking this question the way you did) just throws fuel on the fire.

It a question of hate. I do not hate Bush. I hate his policy's. I do not hate any person. Now tell me honestly. Do you think the word Liberal draws blood?. I think it does not.
A perfect example follows:
"liberalism is a mental disease."
When neocons see that they are wrong and they will never admit being wrong, they always fall back on the old tried and true. Hate
If hate does not work (rarely does) then they claim to be better educated or that they make more money.

It's not ok for anyone to do it, and if they do, they're more part of the problem than the solution.

I just wrote in my blog yesterday,"People who reduce their vocabulary and thinking to empty labels are guilty of dividing our nation into two overly simplified political philosophies. They are as guilty as Klan racists who divide us into the "white race" and the "mud people."

We are a great country; greater than overused slurs and slogans.

I refuse to be confined or defined by the words "liberal" or "Democrat." I am more complex than that.

PC has nothing to do with conducting business in a mature manner.

Personally see bashing done on both side, people have the tendency to become very passionate about their beliefs and their political postion, but it isn't just one sided by any means

It's not right for anyone to resort to name calling. It just shows that the person has a lack of a real argument.

Great question. Let's hear what they have to say...

Liberals make fun of my morals and values DAILY!
They tell me that they don't have to listen to ME say what is decent and what is not. Even though - right and wrong are pretty obvious!

EDIT - oh my - one of my biggest critics and someone who calls me names all the time just posted below me. I NEVER call him names but that doesn't stop HIM!

Name calling is just silly, regardless of your political point of view.
