I know he was injured at the beginning of the season but else than that, I think it's simply because he's not a NBA type of player.

Reddick is a great 3 point shooter but else than that, he's not anything like Kidd, Nash or Iverson.

That player needs about 20 shots a game to be effective, which he's not getting in Orlando. Plus, if you've seen him play (for the rare and short periods), he's making a lot of stupid mistakes and turning the ball way too much.

Still, I don't understand either. I used to like him A LOT when he was at Duke and seeing Deng, Gordon and Duhon doing so good in the NBA, I never thought Reddick would be such a bad bench player...

Still, he can still shot 3 pointers... but that's about all he's capable of doing right now. I say give him a couple of years to get back in shape and learn the style of play... Then we'll see... But right now, he's not impressive.

I think he was injured earlier. Other than that it is obvious that Redick is not an NBA go to guy. You could tell this in college even when he was scoring 30 a game. Long, athletic guards gave him trouble in college. In the NBA most everybody is long and they all are athletic.

Reddick could be like a Steve Kerr type shooter in the Association. A spot up shooter that needs others to get him the open look most often. Reddick is not going to shoot over anybody or breakaway dribbling the ball. Being a Steve Kerr type will keep Reddick in the league for a long time though.

By the way, to the Duke haters. How does Duke not turn out stars and starters in the NBA? Every heard of Luol Deng, Chris Duhon, Shane Battier, Elton Brand, Carlos Boozer, Corey Maggette, Mike Dunlevy etc. etc. Last I checked they all are good players in the NBA. Two of them, Brand and Battier, won Rookie of the Year their respective rookie seasons.

What up Matt H, For even with reason the Magic were quite insistent on protecting JJ. The very last 2 years JJ has been asking for a commerce because he become dropping way on the Magic bench- notwithstanding the Magic have refused to commerce him for some reason. area of the reason it become stated that he wasn't getting taking area in time become that Stan Van Gundy become no longer extremely joyful with Reddick's protection. via lack of publicity i do not recognize that you would possibly want to be able to get a first round %. for Reddick, notwithstanding it will be properly worth paying for round in case you would possibly want to get what you want. i imagine Orlando honestly properly keep Reddick and he can actually have a shot to compete for the starting up pastime on the three. With Hedo Turkgolu declaring that he will settle on out for free agency that's conceivable that Reddick takes the three, Rashard is going to the 4, and the Magic attempt to obtain a real 4 and that would want to then make Reddick like a sixth guy for the Magic (type of like a Jason Kapono form participant) who can fill contained in the gaps on both and three positions. Damion James is going decrease back to school yet i imagine Taj Gibson might want to be an truly good %.-up... i'm honestly hoping the Lakers might want to %. him up. Nickster

being a great shooter means nothing in the nba if you cant get open to take the shot. He isnt the fastest biggest guy in the league so its probably harder for him to be open to shoot. I didnt think he would be a standout in the nba, I honestly didnt. He is young, still has time, but its rare that someone his size and its rare a pure shooter of that size ever is a "star" in the nba

He's a 6'4" 190lb shooting guard. He can't play the point, he can't create his own shot in the NBA and other shooting guards will drop 30 on him nightly.
I don't even know why Orlando drafted him but he's not hurting them at all, it seems.

Because he went to DOOK. No DOOK players are good in the NBA. Only UNC players become NBA stars.

Not good enough. Good in college at Duke hasn't meant that much in the pro's.

There isn't anything wrong with him, when asked, coach Hill claims:

"Right now the problem is -- who do I take off the floor?'' Hill said. "It's a question of the guys who are playing in front of him. Right now, that's where we're at. He is earning his playing time.''"

He's too much of a defensive liability. He's basically a defensive statue.
