im 45 and still have periods sometimes one a month sometimes two a month,there very painfull but still regular,

Depends on the individual- look at the history of the women in your family- I am 43 & on my way to stopping- I recommend you have your doctor do some blood work- they can look at your estrogen & progesterone levels & tell you where you are . However you have not mentioned any hotflashes or night sweats...etc-- which says to me that you "should" have it checked out- especially if you are experiencing pain-- any changes should be brought to your doctors attention- & sometimes "you" need to initiate the request to be check for menopause..

They ususally get a bit erratic (sometimes more frequent other times less frequent) before they stop for good.

We are all different but you are getting closer. I was 55 but that is later than most of my friends. Keep getting enough sleep, eat healthy and drink your water. Exercise helps too.
