I would like to address this in two perspectives Technically, all lives are of equal worth But Practically, it is not. In our daily life we see a human as a great personality or a great contributor to the society/mankind or a person holding an important position such as president etc based on the measurements what we do against the yardsticks provided by the society. In our social circumstances people never have same worth and our society would never ever allow to have such a situation. However, these are all mere mortal laws. There are many things above the 'man made laws'. When a natural calamity happens, it doesn't take away lives based on the importance given to a person. The worth of a dollar lies in the usage. U may just throw it out, or u may buy something for self, or you may give it as charity. In each of these cases, technically it has the same worth , but practically it has different values. So, net, I would say that technically or from a philosophical perspective all human lives have equal worth, however, in our practical terminologies , it varies.
