2.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 processor 3500+ has 1 Gb ram, 200 Gig hard drive

intel 3.33 GHz Intel Celeron D Processor 356 has 512 mb 120 gb hard drive.

So what would be the better deal

Stay away from Celerons ...great as business units ...terrible for home use, multimedia & multitasking.

Invest a little more & get an AMD X2 64 or Intel Core2Duo.
This will avoid future regret & disappointment.

I say go with what your using the computer for, the AMD has more ram and a bigger hard drive, processing power is good, although the intel is faster the 512mb of ram will make a difference, so again I think in this case the AMD machine will seem to operate faster.

its true that additions and modifications can b made as needed. n also its tru that it depends on what u r using it for

but as per the specs above, the 2.2 AMD is generally better. i say better with a twitch because it heavily depends on what u r using it for


- in my experience, intel is better for music, and audio type applicatioins but AMD is better fro graphic type stuff like video games. - both will b good 4 general email, web browsing and word processing.

I like Intel, but others may disagree. The RAM and hard drive are not considerations, as they can be bought as needed.

Neither....

Intel Core 2 Duo is the way to go.
