i recently stopped drinking-for my own health, and b/c my mom hates to see me drunk. also because when i drink, i can't just have one beer-I want several. I can't just have a little glass of Jack Daniels, I want the whole bottle. And I think that anybody who can't not drink in moderation doesn't have any business drinking in the first place-that how people get alcohol poisioning, etc. Plus, I'm through with those yucky hangovers! YAAAAYYYYY!!! I can function now!

Yes it is! I think alcohol causes more problems than it ever solves. I don't miss it or its effects and I quit drinking after college in 1985. I think it is a personal decision, but it is so much easier not having to mess with people who drink as well! My wife doesn't drink either and we are perfectly happy. Good Luck in the future and I wish you well in your new life!

Life IS better since I quit drinking years ago. When I think back to the times when I was so drunk and screwed up, I can see so much wasted time, energy, and money. I could have been doing so much better for myself, but I thought getting drunk and raising "hell" was cool. It is not cool. Its dumb...in my opinion. The hangovers had me regretting the night before and yet I would hit the bottle again. Not only that, being sober and talking with a drunkard is very revealing about the effects of alcohol. Conversation is slow and useless. Anyway, yeah, life is much better since I quit drinking.

Drinking is o.k. if you can control it-devastating if you cant!!!!-
I have never done anything that I have been ashamed of when sober-different story when I've overdone the devil's brew sometimes-try to do it in moderation now and succeed most of the time if not all of the time!!
