I generally have +2 lbs on my scale right before and for the first 3 days. You retain water and bloat and etc. so it's normal. Try midol, it helps with the water weight gain plus pain if you have cramps.
Take Care,
Tori

Yeah you gain water weight...it is called bloting. It should not be that much but it just depends on the women i gain about a 1/2 of a pound to a pound and a half. It just once again depends on your body and diet. That picks up as well. Also something else common with menstral cycles is having to use the bathroom because during this time your uterus is contracting which makes you go. I now graphic but i just though i would throw that info in there.

I tend to gain weight in the week before my period, and lose it again during my period. It's not too much, about three pounds (I am a tallish girl so it's not really noticeable unless I get on the scale).

The weight gain is from water retention and you eat more carbohydrates at this time. You can drink lemonade or cranberry juice or more water than normal. To get rid of the retention and the carbohydrates put on a sauna suit and fast walk or slow jog to start to sweat out the fluids and work off the extra calories.

Yeah i gain a about 3 pounds and i can really see it! Someone told me to drink cranberry juice as its a diuretic and helps control the water retention. I was drinking it for a UTI this month and my period is due but i dont actually look as bloated! I hadnt realised till i read your Q.

I do a few pounds. I weigh 90 pounds and when I am on my period I might weigh about 93 or so. Nothing to worry about I am sure it happens to a lot of women.

I usually gain about 5 pounds. It is from being bloated that causes it. Plus you tend to want to eat more sweets during that time
