actually they are not that hairy, and their hair works to protect them from hot and cold weathers, rain, bugs, the sun and many other things. their fur works like an isolator, is not a fashionable cloth they have just to look more cute or to be petted

In geologic time perspective, there was a recent Ice Age. Our climate is warmer now, than it has been in a long time. Perhaps that's something to speculate about. Biological mutations take time to develop. And maybe the theory that Man evolved from a coasline, ocean environment accounts for our lack of fur.

Hair is an insulator. Insulators act to maintain temperature, they don't actually increase or decrease it. So, in hot climates hair can protect animals from excess heat.

Lots of hair works like un umbrella or parasol. It makes primate's body cool by working as an insulation.
