Its not a vacuum leaks in system, positively, because fuel injection system will not works if there's a air leaks in system. Since your last idle position was programmed and controlled by your car's computer management system, its not recognized a new idling position of the new idle valve..then you needs to reset the computer. Remove positive of your battery and the cable from your idle valve let it sit for about 5-10 mins then reinstall the battery cable..then the idle-valve, this procedure sometimes delete the car faulty errors and erase its last recorded position of the ile valve. After plug in the cables, don't start the engine yet, let the computer learn the new idle position then start the engine, if you remove the idle-valve cable while the engine is running, the computer thinks that your car needs wide open position at all time and that was your problem. Good luck!

On my old Pontiac, replacing the valve meant the idle speed was very high for about 3 minutes, then as the computer began adjusting the pintle, the speed came down...

So, let it run for at least a few minutes to allow the computer to move the pintle...if after several minutes it isn't dropping the idle, the new valve is probably defective.

Soundls like you have a vacuum leak - either unplugged hose of damaged plenum gasket. Try spraying starting fluid on the top of the engine in defferent spots. If idle changes - it is leaking vacuum.

humm, if its electrical it will be hard to find,
ARE you sure there are no air leaks ???????

it may be your maf sensor also, but i would recomend getting an engine computer diagnostic.

If you are able to get a book on that car you can read the trouble code from your dashboard, by turning the key like your about to turn it on three times quickly and leave it in the almost turned on position at the end this will make your check engine light flash a code, then look in the book

where was the fuel leak? if you disturbed the injectors you probably pinched or broke an o-ring seal on one or more of the injectorsand have a vaccum leak' sometimes a vaccum leak is hard ti pinpoint'
if the car was running ok before you fixed the leak then its something you did when you disassembled it so you should backtrac'
