The other night Bush made a State of the Union speech and not one time did he use the word "Veteran."

Why?

Don't veterans matter to the current resident of the White House?

Interesting question, ty. Our service members are the best in the world, they do the job. They follow orders. They could care less about politics they spend the time on the job trying to stay alive one more day. Bush and Cheney are both draft dodgers. They know nothing of war. When you been there and seen the death and destruction with your own eyes. Perspective becomes very different. Iraq is in civil war. We can not police that. The occupation of Iraq must end. Now tell me. have you ever seen the guts of your best friend on the ground? Terrorist will not stand and fight, they are cowards. They do the dirty work behind our backs. IDEs are getting our Service members killed for the Iraqis Oil and the Iraqi power struggle.

I am a veteran and I support the President, like many of my fellow veterans and service members do. Do you actually know any veterans or soldiers...probably not, or you would not have made such a generalizing idiotic remark...I can tell you this that more veterans hate your boy Bill and "girl" Hillary more than you would like to know...talk to veterans before you spew the Liberal Media's view of the world...most soldiers that I know say we should kill the following people in this order...

insurgence
The Media...

I guess you didn't know that....

As for Veteran's Benefits, if you are truly disabled you get all the benefits you need, I know I do...Bush has done more the the Soldier, Veteran, and Military Family Members than any Liberal has ever done...Clinton did nothing and I suspect his "wife" will do less...that is why I will campaign very hard against her...

Not all people who go to Iraq come home angry at President Bush OR "neocons". Most of them want to go back and fight, and they're not angry about being sent. I've spoken to many soldiers who just returned home from Iraq in November, and they're not angry at all.
As for whether or not President Bush said the word "veterans", so what? He did mention soldiers who had fought and ARE fighting in Iraq. Why attack him just because he may or may not have said "veterans?" Who cares?
It just goes to show that some people will attack the president for anything...

they are? you know veterans? and they told you they were angry at their leader?

interesting. have you ever read any Milblogs? aka, Military Bloggers? cause there's quite a few out there, and most of them, to your dismay, still support their president and their mission. they are pretty mad at the media and your democratic leaders though. they feel that you are all affecting their morale, in a negative way. they think it's pretty shitty and unfair that the media is all doom and gloom and nobody gets to see the good stuff they're doing- like building schools, hospitals, and helping people.

thus you have blogs. to be honest, i've not found any that were by veterans angry at their leader or at your so called "neo cons." OTOH i haven't looked for any, so you might be able to find some. i'm not interested, frankly. i'll stick with the 15 or so i've already been reading.

i almost forgot- a good friend of mine works at Ft. Knox. she was telling me not two days ago that she speaks to soldiers all the time, and that she's noticed they all say the same things: that what they're doing over there is right, and that they're angry at the media.

Well, if he's willing to disgrace the victims of 9-11 by setting off a totally irrelevant massacre of Iraqis, ignore domestic issues, and plunge the Middle East into anarchy, then I'd say he's pretty clearly devoted to being a tyrant. So I don't see him suddenly having any compunctions about feeding American blood to his war machine.

The fact that he now wants to hurtle another 21 500 troops into the abyss is a demonstration of his sociopathic God-complex.

Of course they matter.

I have to wonder why there are two responsders to this question that are either in Iraq or have returned from Iraq and deny your claim yet there are responders who follow those two responses and totally ignore what they are saying.

He also didn't say anything about why we are bombing Somalia. He also didn't mention New Orleans/Katrina. The sad truth is, the Idiot-IN- Chief is in bed with the Neocon/Israeli establishment and he has sold America out. This is the most pathetic era in U.S. History. Regime change, regime change, regime change...Stop diplomatic relations and start bombing. SOME LEADER!! This mentally-ill empty suit needs to be removed immediately!

Yes and they are not coming home angry with Bush. They are coming home angry at ignorant troublemakers who know nothing about the subject that they stand on their soapbox and preach about.

Liberals keep telling people that they support the troops but they laugh at the troops, accusing the troops murders and child killers.

Proof?? KERRY.

Another Proof: the answer right above me.

Whatever dude. He also did not mention the word "black people' so black people must not matter. he also left out " Native Americans" so they do not matter either. He also never mentioned "Asians" so they do not matter either.

American veterns of Iraq have a record setting re-enlistment rate. These people choose to place themselves in harms way, which is why they should be loved and appreciated for providing us our freedom. The fact is the majority of those who go to Iraq re-enlist in the military at the end of their tour.

He never mentioned his wife in the State of the Union either, so therefore she does not matter to him either. Please, allow the discipline of logic to overpower the virus of uneducated rhetoric.
