Without going into details of a delicate nature--when you get home, slipping away and returning in a nice, somewhat revealing outfit, and with a great big smile is a good starter.
Maybe you would like to have one extra little present as well, perhaps a cute little Teddy bear holding an "I love you" heart.
Relax, I think you will do wonderfully, your heart is in the right place!

Act natural. Dont feel pressured to do anything. Dont let all your cards down, but be yourself. I, being a male, most like it when the girl/ woman is not superficial and too self concious. I think we all naturally are a little self - concious, but I dont like it when a girl/woman is too stuck on herself either.

How about just fixing him a nice meal or doing it together, chatting, watching a movie together, maybe have a few drinks and go for a walk afterwards, talk and get to know each other better before giving into sex. If that is all that is the interest, then it is an empty relationship that will go nowhere.

Really, there is no need to go "apart from the obvious," if you really want to make your man happy. That is all we want. Men are simple creatures. The more obvious, the better, especially with the way you dress for dinner. When you think you look just a little too slutty, you are almost slutty enough.

This is a reverse approach to the answer, but the best approach.
Do not build up the event in your mind. treat it like any other day.
Your boyfriend loves you for who you are, every other day of the year, not for who you are during valentines day. If you are the same person on valentines day, as you were the day he met you, some day you will tell your grand children about the day Yahoo answers changed you life.
