You should eat a diet rich in vitamins and minerals (especially iron and the B complexes) and drink lots of water to help detox your system. Get plenty of sleep in order to assist in the regeneration process and exercise in the outdoors to get the metabolism going. Congratulations and well done! You will not regret this decision.

Well done for stopping.I think time is a healer, as the say,and by keeping yourself fit and healthy you may be able to reverse some of the effects on your body, but i dont think all. Maybe your doctor will be able to test you to find out the extent of the damage on your organs.Make sure you stick to a healthy diet, lots of water, fruit, and veg, light exercise, cut out coffee, tea and choccies, although everything is OK in moderation.Every day you don't drink makes a difference, so keep it up!

First off let me say congratulations on quitting. Well one thing we do know that you can't do any further damage to your body. Have you received a full check up lately? I have heard that the liver is one of the body organs that can start to repair themselves but I now this isn't true with the lungs as with smoking. I quit smoking after 32 years.AA has a saying that I'm one beer away from a six pack a day.SM (Smokers anonymous)say I'm one cigarette away from a pack a day.You can do this be proud of yourself!

The liver is very good at regenerating damaged cells, but if the damage goes too far it is unable to repair its self and will eventually fail. You should have a simple blood test that will give a guide as to its efficiency.
