The answer is obscure: What you are asking is how much MONEY do you need to live, but what you mean is how much money is enough to LIVE. This formulae should help. How much do you need to live for one week? How many weeks do you expect to live? Multiply the two, when you have the result in your bank account you will know how much is enough. If you want to live well, then multiply times three, very well by four, etc. Remember, wealth is living well instead of barely living.

It all depends on how you manage what you have. If you have a lot of debts, then you need more income to pay the debts off.
If you are debt-free then you should be able to live a comfortable life on a modest income and put some back for retirement and other investments.
