While I wish you well with your acting and singing, I would advise you to not put so much personal information about yourself on a public forum like this. Please stay safe...

Here's the deal- getting signed is based largely on luck. You can be the best out there, but you could not be what they were looking for at that time. BE PERSISTANT! You have to keep coming back for more, it can take you years, but if you love it enough, you'll make it happen.

Get involved as much as you can, do theater and musicals, concerts, that whole bunch. Think of this as time to build up your resume.

Get some books on getting into the entertainment business- there actually helpful...

There are SO MANY agencies in the world, it depends on where you want to go. If your going to San Fran, I suggest you go to LA or something for a few weeks...During Pilot or Episodic seasons, okay? That would be your best chance to audition and be seen.

Try sending your resume and headshot out anyway, from where you are. Make it professional- otherwise they won't even glance at your picture. If they're interested, they'll call you.

Stay away from scams! If they really want you, they shouldn't charge you to see them. (Sometimes, it's okay- it just depends on the company.)

Go to acting classes and academys- such as John Robert Powers or Barbizon, or something. Sometimes, they have conventions which one can go to, and it's just a blast! You get to meet with agencies and such. (It involves the categories: Modeling, Acting, Singing, and Dancing) and you can get involved in all four if you want, it's up to you.

Take care and good luck!

I would say choose by, which one you really love the most, think you would do better at, and should look at the whole industry of both. Singing seems to require more work than acting, even though acting still is a very hard job. What I mean is, for singing you write/cowrite sings, you spend months recording, then you have to diligently promote your album, then there are many concerts you'll have to sing too. With acting after going thru the hardest part of getting the role, you practice your lines a lot, end up on set for 2 months or so, probably being away from your family, friends, etc (if you are far away from America) and who knows if you'll like the other cast members.lol. It just seems like singing takes more effort, so many processes. Not that I'm saying its good to be lazy or not a dilligent worker. But with singing once you're in, you're in. You don't have to keep proving yourself like acting. Acting takes much longer to "get into." Are you tenacious, tough enough to hang in there with acting? But my conclusion also leads to acting b/c...there is no $ in singing! There are like a billion artists out there. Especially thanks to American Idol. I'm a lover of music, big music buff, and even I'm tired of how many new artists with no talent keep pouring out of the woodwork. There is no quality today. Suddenly everyone can sing?! My family and I crack ourselves up about it. Everytime I see a new, talentless singer emerge, I always, always, remember Lauren Bacall's quote,"Right now, we live in an age of mediocrity." I couldn't have said it better myself. I really long for the Old Hollywood days of QUALITY....Anyway, and with acting once you do the extremely difficult, almost impossible task of making it thru, getting a few movies, you can work up to getting $20 mil a pic. I would choose acting....You seem like a sweet girl. I wish you the best of luck.

Find a local theater company and audition for parts in their plays. You will gain additional experience with singing and acting as well as a public showcase of your talent. The more people who see your work, the more likely you are to be discovered.
