This morning, I woke up and had to pee-- when i was through, i felt like i was still leaking fluid, but it did not really feel as though i were urinating.It only came in small spurts, when i leaned over. (i know this part is weird, but...) I caught some in a cup, and it was completely clear, with some small white mucus-like things floating in it. It also does not smell like urine. All the books i've read said that amniotic fluid is supposed to be yellowish and should stop if you sit or stand-- it only leaks when im sitting or standing. I'm 3 weeks away from my due date, and im not having any abnormal discomfort, except when i stood up from the toilet I got a little dizzy.

I have a dr. appointment later today, at two o'clock. Is it necessary to go in earlier?? Im calling the office, but nobody's answering... should i go to the hospital, or should i wait until i'm sure its amniotic fluid??

Give your doctor a call ASAP and tell them what you saw. It sounds like it may be discharge or it could be that your water has broken. The doctor will best be able to tell by an exam (I believe... I may be wrong on that since my water only broke once naturally and it was pretty unmistakeable!).
ETA: The amniotic sac does not always rupture in a "gush"! It is possible that your water can leak out slowly... especially if the baby is in a position to block the tear.
Also, may not going to be absolutely immediate that you will need to be delivered. You have up to 24 hours before you need to deliver once the water has broken (risk of infection is a factor in the time limit, though, the fact that the baby has lost/is losing part his or her lifeline also makes timing critical).

Go to the hospital NOW. Yes it is amniotic fluid. Keep calling your doctor from a cell phone, but go to the hospital now. Every woman and pregnancy are different. Waiting for something to look like the book says it should look like is a bad practice. Get to the hospital now.

What they told me, was if you are sitting or standing the baby's head acts like a cork so it might not come out, if you think it may have broken lay down flat, and lots more should come out. amniotic fluid smells sweet and nothing like urine so you could try to smell some (gross i know)
and the white mucus thing sounds like your mucus plug coming out. if thats the case, labor can start real soon or still be a week or two away. but your definatly closer when that happens. good luck!!

You could be leaking amniotic fluid. Maybe a high tear or baby is blocking the flow. See your doctor and they will sab you and can tell in minutes if it's amniotic fluid.

Oh you can tell if your water breaks because it won't leak out, it will gush out lol! But if you are discomfoted (as in you still worry about the clear fluid) might as well just call the doctor and get some advice, who knows it may be nothing, or it could be serious! Just call, besides who's gonna blame a pregnant lady for just wanting to make sure everythings ok?

Try wearing a pad and walk around for a while if it continues to leak then you will need to go to the hospital.

What are you doing girl, get off your computer and get in your car and go to the hospital. You will be most likely having a baby very soon, good luck! Also what did you do last night?

You need to call your doctor. Your bag of waters could be punctured but not totally broken. If your water totally breaks, you'll know because it's a HUGE GUSH. Since you're so close, if it is leaking, they'll probably just have you deliver.

same thing happen to me, got up early because i had to pee, then when i stopped it still felt like i was peeing. it was my water just starting to break. call your doctor and go at once because if it is your water and your just walking around like that you could get a bad infection.

sounds to me like you just have pressure from the baby on your bladder. leaning forward moved the baby enough to drain the little bit that was left in your bladder. and the dizziness was probably from standing up too fast, that is common this late in pregnancy.
if you are really worried about it...call your obgyn.
