I am starting to think that mamma2min and mystic eye are the same people.

Anyway, I just read in Parents magazine to stay away from any teeth whitener while pregnant or breastfeeding. The effects of whiteners hasn't been researched enough.

Try checking out the website I've listed below. It is a tremendous source of information regarding any aspect of breastfeeding!

Good Luck!

According to my references, teeth whiteners are carbamide peroxide, which is just a stabilized formulation of hydrogen peroxide. When it touches tissue, it releases pure hydrogen peroxide almost immediately. Its transfer to the plasma is minimal, if at all. According to Thomas Hale, PhD (in Medications and Mothers' Milk), "it would be all but impossible for any to reach breastmilk except under extreme overdose." Even if absorbed, it would be metabolized in seconds.

I nursed my daughter for three years.

I still brush with a simple, cheap combination of baking soda and peroxide every other morning...and it worked wonders for my teeth.

I won't buy the expensive stuff...when the ingredients I need are cheap and already in my medicine cabinet!

As long as your not putting them in your babys mouth I would say it is safe.

This is entirely unrelated, but just as a warning, breast feeding will decrease their size.

Anything that concerns a baby should be treated as important. Please go and ask your doctor, we may make bad decisions and regret it later.
