NASA has centers in almost all the states. Different NASA centers are in charge of different needs for NASA.
As mentioned, Florida (Kennedy Space Center) is for launches (most of the big launches anyway).
Houston, TX, is the Johnson Space Center. It houses Mission Control, which communicates with the space craft, but also trains the astronauts, not to mention a great number of different science and engineering tasks.
NASA Headquarters is in D.C. It organizes the "needs" and explains what it has accomplished to congress, it also decides on how on the "centers" work together.
Feel free to write me via my profile if you'd like more details or find out if you have a NASA center in your state.
Thanks!

the h.q. is in D.C. butthe main station is in cape canaveral in florida. its all the way to the east and kinda in the middle. its were they launch it and everything. i've been there once. they have the moon rock on display there. there are many of neet things there. there is another place owned by NASA in houston texas but its only were they land it and thats only sometimes. they then bring it back riding piggy back on a boeing 747. the space center in texas is johnson space center and the one in florida is kennady space center.

I think it's in Houston, Texas. As in, "Houston, we have a problem."
