It all depends. There were major military campaigns against Huguenots all during the 16th C, ( one which the French Royal Army lost ) and on through the 17thc. I am guessing Louis the XIII
under the direction of Cardianal. Richeleu revoked numerous charters that allowed for some Huguenot fortified towns to retain their walls and keeps, but perhaps you refer to the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes in the late 1600s under Louix XIV. Seventeenth C.
