There is such a thing as a highly sensitve and highly vascularized cervix. I happen to have one myself. I bleed after sex, after pap, for no reason whatsoever. It is a bright red, watery, superficial blood. My GYN has done two cervical biopsies, two D&C's, multiple paps and everything is normal. I have no cancer or abnormal cells. You should have your doctor do a D&C to see if it stops the bleeding and also biopsy cervix and possibly uterus, especially if your pap is normal. This will ease your mind and rule out potential cancers. Assuming no abnormalities, you like have a very sensitive cervix. Lastly, you should have a complete screening for all STD's. Those too can make you bleed.

In summary, your GYN should rule out every possible reason for bleeding. If nothing is found, you can attribute it to your unique anatomy & physiology. If your GYN doesn't feel these tests are necessary... I would find a new doctor!

Cervical polyps, which are harmess (~ 99%) benign growths on the cervix can cause bleeding inbetween periods or after sex, as can a cervical erosion, which is also nothing to get worried about. Both can be treated easily. But your doctor obviously has conduct all tests to rule out anything sinister. I wouldn't worry yourself at this stage. It is most likely going to be something that is easily treatable. Best wishes.

I don't mean to alarm you but it could be cervical cancer. The same thing happened to my late sis-in-law. Hope it isn't so in your case.
