Usually the problem is that the tension is set incorrectly (too tight) or the machine is not threaded the right way. Also check your bobbin to make sure that it was put in correctly and the spool turns the right way. Your instruction booklet should have a chart telling you which needles and settings to use for different types of fabric- it will tell you what the tension should be set at.
Check the spool of thread too- make sure the thread isn't caught somewhere there!

Couple of things, check the thread- often if it is old it will snap. Next it could be the tension. Take out the bobbin case, on the side is a tiny screw. Your bobbin thread should drop in the case and stop. If this does not happen adjust the screw accordingly until bobbin drops and stops. There is really never any need to adjust the tension on the top, just the bottom if thread snaps or bunches--always the bottom.

It sounds like the tension is too tight. Are you using the correct type of thread? Most sewing machines won't work with nylon thread. Double check if the machine is threaded properly, top and bottom.

I think either the tension setting is too tight, you have threaded it incorrectly or, the bobbin is threaded incorrectly/too tight. Try undoing the whole lot and rethreading!
Good luck

i think it is tension issues too but also check your initial threading is right, along the tension discs, and check you are threading the needle correctly from left to right or front to back good luck

Is the needle in right? Or it might be the tension on the top or the bottom...be sure and check both good luck
