This problem occurs quite often using Nero. I know of 5 people who have had the same problem. Try reinstalling Nero. If this doesn't work try installing another program such as Roxio, or try removing Nero altogether and use the program that comes with your machine. I don't know why this happens but sometimes it happens. I have 2 freinds that have Nero and they don't have this problem. I had Nero 2 years ago and it worked perfectly for over a year then it lost my DVD player. If you go to the Control Panel, everthing looks normal yet the DVD player won't work. I no longer use Nero.

First check to make sure that your CD drive isworking. Try putting a CD in with something on it such as pictures or files and go to explorer and see if you can see them on the CD. If you can, then the drive is ok and you need to look at your software. I use Nero and really don't like it as much as the Roxio I have in this computer. Also when you get ready to burn the CD, are you using Nero Express and telling it you want to burn a Data or Music CD?

Same thing happened to me. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/ph/1173
and look for the hyperlink that says cd/dvd
burner not found after uninstalling cd/dvd
software. The article will tell you how to
fix it if you are an advanced user, or it can
even fix it for you if you are not. Worked like
a charm for me. Hope this helps.
