Sorry but I never supported the Duke rape hoax. I thought it was ridiculous from the start.

The woman who accused those boys, should be arrested tried and sent to prison for what she did.

She has potentially ruined their lives, accusing someone of rape is not a small thing. It should not be taken lightly, especially when it comes to light that she was a lying piece of trash.

First and foremost, it shows a gross negligence to claim that all "liberal democrats" ever supported Nifong or the accuser. From the beginning, this case had holes throughout it, and it was because of the pure fact of one man's power going to his head that this case was even continued. District Attorney Mike Nifong was extremely wrong and most definitely used this case as electoral sway for an election he would have most likely lost. He should never have prosecuted this case, as the evidence was not there to do so.

At the very least we can see some satisfaction in the fact that he will be disbarred for his actions, which are chronicled in a report released last week from the North Carolina State Bar:
http://www.ncbar.com/Nifong_release.pdf

The accuser should be in jail as she has both provided many false statements to the police as well as committed perjury on the stand. On the first day she went to the police, she provided three different accounts of what happened, and one even included that nothing happened. Unfortunately, as much as I believe she should receive jail time for her actions, she will most likely get off with a slap on the wrist. It is her actions that make those that are truly raped harder to convict those that assault them.

Though I side with the Duke Lacrosse team, and have since the beginning, they were wrong, but not for what they were prosecuted for. Just as the parents said in their interview on "60 Minutes," they were morally wrong for having this party and condoning this behavior as a team, but they have payed the price many times over for this behavior. As a Division I leading team, they should know that their actions off the field as a team and individuals play as important a role as their actions on field.

Just an unfortunate situation overall.... for those in the future that are truly raped, for the young men and their lives, and even for the sport of lacrosse, which has been tarnished by this case.

But let me end with this once again... don't make this into a liberal - conservative argument. This was a case carried away by ego, and there is plenty of ego in both the Republican and Democratic parties.

There is an all or nothing mentality in a lot of cons. If a democrat screws up or does something the Republicans don't like, cons don't seem capable of understanding that not everyone is the same. They laugh at Hillary Clinton and her vast right conspiracy theory but think nothing of accusing liberals of conspiring with Nifong against the students charged with rape.
I wonder if they would have the same outrage if Nifong were a Republican.

88 Duke Professors signed a decree shortly after the arrest of the 3 Duke Lacrosse Team members. They decry-ed the white athletes and blasted them even though they are supposedly innocent until proved guilty in our system. The world all knows that the entire thing was a big lie but the "Duke 88" still refuse to apologize for their actions -- in-spite of the fact that no rape or sexual attack EVER occurred. So you tell me, what do you think?

I hope not, but I bet many of them still do.
That poor woman who had to make all this up to get attention should be compensated for a bad life and we should not judge her. The boys are rich and in college so their feelings don't matter...money will make all this sadness go away...NOT!

Those boys are in my prayers - I hope they move on, get great jobs, and have happy families.

absolutely, but now that the white boys are innocent the media will bury the story....and why haven't they charged "miss Thang" with filing false statements and perjury??? Because she's black.
