Many yuccas are native to the American Southeast, not only the Southwest. The Southeastern ones are more likely to tolerate the colder temps. It is impossible to accurately assess whether you can grow your yucca out of doors, without knowing where you live and which yucca you have. Take and a leaf and a photo to a local nursery and ask them. If you don't you are gambling on its survival. I'd say at very best your odds are 50-50.

Yucca plants are desert natives, but if you water as often as it rains in Arizona and place it where there is some sunlight at least 6hours a day it should do well. You might check with the local nursery in your town to be absolutely sure.

I have seen many people in the Chicago area keep their yucca plants outside so it should survive. Don't overwater it. That is how I killed mine.
